Jordan Stanzler has
extensive experience in the preparation and trial of
complex cases. For the last eight years Mr. Stanzler has
concentrated in representing policyholders in insurance
coverage litigation and bad faith claims against
insurance companies. During that time he has obtained
hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance recoveries
on behalf of major corporations. Mr. Stanzler has
recently represented Hoechst Celanese Corporation before
the Delaware Supreme Court, where he argued two
successful appeals on key insurance issues for a
nationwide class action involving polybutelene plumbing
claims, which total more than $1 billion. Mr. Stanzler
also represented Allied-Signal in what the Wall Street
Journal hailed as the first major settlement of an
environmental insurance coverage case. Mr. Stanzler has
also lectured and written extensively on the subject of
insurance recovery, insurance company bad faith and is
co-author of a new treatise, INSURANCE COVERAGE
LITIGATION (John Wiley, 1997).
From 1982-86 Mr. Stanzler
was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern
District of New York and Chief of its Tax Unit in
1987-88. He successfully prosecuted civil and criminal
tax fraud cases, including the largest tax fraud case
involving government securities.
